Scorncast | Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark

DIM SUM | And the summer movie season regrettably whimpers to a close with DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, a disappointing remake of the memorable 1973 television chiller in which tiny goblins torment the new residents of a spooky old mansion. Hey, at least the movers were on time. On this ghoulishly grumbly episode of Scorncast, Jasper and co-host Ghostface Millah agree that it sure didn’t require very much effort to not be afraid of the dark… even though one of them wasn’t too keen on walking home from his late-night screening alone. Plus: Jasper’s fanboy devotion keeps him from blaming this film’s endless inconsistencies on producer/co-writer Guillermo del Toro, and Ghostface endorses a little-known rule for TV Tag.
