Scorncast | Super 8

SHOT THROUGH THE HEART | It's the biggest secret of the summer... OR IS IT? Jasper and very special guest Ghostface Millah of the Round Table music blog investigate the enigmatic mysteries of J.J. Abrams' SUPER 8, that rare summer movie where all the summer-movie stuff is the least exciting thing about it. The guys ponder the success of its hush-hush marketing campaign, rave about the talented kid cast, and furrow their brows at some unfortunate third-act wackiness, but ultimately give into a pretty irresistible case of the nostalgic warm-'n'-fuzzies. (Also, if you thought Jasper's Tim Gunn's impression in the Pirates of the Caribbean Scorncast was bad, wait'll you hear him confuse Roy Scheider with Charles Nelson Reilly.) Rating: PG-13. Running time: 112 minutes.
